Thank you for your comment. We learn all of our lives and happy is the one who knows oneself! Do I know myself well? Who knows, I know what I can do and I know what I cannot do. For instance I cannot translate using software, because I do not have the time to read, for instance the instructions for Trados. And when I was feeling sad that I cannot, I find out from a friend who is employed by a corporate business that the translated texts coming from a translation agency which uses software are bad... Everything is relative, what can I say... I would like of course like anyone, I hope, that I can make more money out of my translations and was thinking (please correct me if I am wrong) that international translations are paid better. Theoretically they are, but the way to find them is complex and I do not really understand how an employer/customer selects the translator. IS it only the low rate per word (I was offered less than 0.01 Euro per word and I refused, it is much less than the Romanian standard I am getting anyway), or is it that the employer knows a certain translator and if he does and they have a fruitful relationship (like I do with my customers) doesn't the employer know what to expect and isn't he satisfied. I have the impression the employers want to get a better quality with less money. This is like I would decide to buy a bottle of expensive French perfume and I would expect the cost to equal a cheap one... Please elaborate, I am all ears... and thanks again for the interest.
Please help me get to know you better. Are you wanting more value, a better mission, a deeper purpose, or a more insightful vision, or all of the above?
